Tekfur Palace

TEKFUR PALACE

Tekfur Palace is a rare and outstanding example of Byzantine palace architecture, situated just within Istanbul’s city walls near Edirnekapi gate.
According to the researches, it was determined that the palace belonged to 13th century. It was used for various aims after the conquest of Istanbul in 1453.
It was restored between the years 1955 - 1970. Tekfur Palace is the only palace sample that remained from the Byzantine Period.
